The founders of Pres approached us with the beginnings of an idea: a name, a loose sense of attitude and an early AI-generated mark. What they did not yet have was a brand with the structure, story or visual foundation needed to enter the market.
Their ambition was to create a hard seltzer rooted in South Africa’s pre-game culture, capturing the energy, connection and spontaneity that define the moments before a night out.
To reach that ambition, the idea needed clarity, definition and a system that could grow with the product. We were tasked with building the brand from the ground up, shaping the narrative, positioning and visual language into something culturally grounded and visually distinct. The work took the form of a complete brand book: purpose, tone and messaging; a new identity system; packaging directions; merchandise concepts; product visuals; and a set of digital interfaces and social templates to guide the brand online.
These components were designed as part of one scalable system that could move easily between packaging, retail presence and everyday communication. Through the collaboration, Pres developed from an early concept into a lifestyle brand with a clear voice and a defined place in the market, ready to engage a youth audience with a product built around the ritual of getting ready together.
