Aguela, a Cape Town–based consultancy working across fisheries law, environmental governance and eco-tourism, approached us with an identity that no longer reflected the scope or sophistication of their work. Their existing mark felt dated and disconnected from both their coastal origins and their international credibility.

The task was to create a visual language that carried a sense of precision, restraint and  authority qualities central to their advisory practice. Working with brand consultant Ané Swart, we developed a new identity built around a refined serif logotype and a monogram that draws subtle cues from the marine environment.

The intention was not to illustrate their sector directly, but to suggest it through measured detail and crafted linework, creating a symbol that feels both distinctive and understated. The identity system was extended across stationery, iconography and digital applications, giving Aguela a clear and contemporary presence that aligns with the clarity and rigour of their work.
